In the fall of 2009, I was a new mom. I had been laid off from my job when I was about two months pregnant, so I unexpectedly decided to stay home. I wanted to meet some mom friends, so I launched a moms club on Facebook and added about 10 women I knew who had small children. I set up our very first play date at Mason’s Mill Park in suburban Montgomery County when my daughter was a few months old.
In almost six years, Philly Moms Club has evolved into a group of 2,000 local moms (and even some dads!) We set up playdates, family events, and Moms Nights Out. From our humble beginnings of ten strong to the vibrant community it is today, Philly Moms Club never ceases to amaze me.
